AEG helps original U.S.
manufacturers develop successful outsourcing industrial engineering
components and products manufactured using Rubber, Plastics,
Composites and Structural Adhesives. Through extensive research,
analysis and due-diligence, we identify appropriate contract
manufacturer internationally, then assist in creating comprehensive
manufacturing agreements.
AEG serves fast growing
new venture companies and major corporations world-wide. The scope
and duration of our consulting engagements is determined together
with our clients and depend upon a number of factors. These factors
include the degree of our involvement in assessing outsourcing
feasibility and desirability, the complexity of assemblies to be
outsourced, the number of facilities currently producing these
assemblies and the number and locations of contract manufacturers to
be considered. We will typically work full-time on the engagement
until completed, integrating into the organization of an outsourcing
project team.
Some clients may prefer
that we work mostly independently, or in anonymity to protect their
identity. Key issues to be addressed in most engagements include: ·
-
What to outsource, what
to perform internally?
Which contract
manufacturer(s) to use and which site?
What price to pay now
and on what basis?
What pricing method to
use for new products in the future?
What services and
performance standards to expect?
How to staff internally
for managing the contract manufacture?
How to minimize the
long-term financial risk?
The AEG letter will
contain details of scope, duration and project plan. AEG identifies
the right contract manufacturers for our clients using industry
research, experience and extensive due-diligence.
We take the time to conduct
targeted on-site fact finding and analysis with contract
manufacturers and selectively with their customers, vendors and
other sources. This tactic, while more time-intensive, provides
important insight into strengths, weaknesses and overall
compatibility.
When conducting due-diligence with
contract manufacturers, we focus on business processes and operating
factors that are proven to be the best predictors of performance,
i.e. the ability to consistently meet commitments and the on-going,
changing needs of our clients. Auditing operating processes is done
selectively to validate performance data, relevancy and reliability
of information systems.
These include order entry procedures,
inventory and supplier management practices, production and quality
control systems, and customer returns.
